Montréal motorcyclist fined after driving 160 km/h on Highway 40

A 36‑year‑old motorcyclist was stopped after travelling at 160 km/h on Highway 40 eastbound, in a zone where the limit was 50 km/h. The incident happened around 1 a.m. on May 9, just past the Côte‑Vertu exit.

The driver accelerated when police attempted to pull him over and committed additional Highway Safety Code violations. He received several tickets, including a $2,068 fine and 32 demerit points. His licence was also suspended for seven days.

Suspected arson in Dorval industrial park

An investigation is underway in Dorval after a fire broke out in an industrial park on Saint‑Régis Boulevard early Monday morning. The 911 call came in around 1:30 a.m., and firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control.

Incendiary materials were found at the scene, leading police to suspect arson. The building’s façade was damaged. No arrests had been made as of Monday morning.

Doctors and medical students join forces for a concert honouring women and mothers

The I Medici di McGill orchestra, made up mostly of doctors and medical students, held a concert celebrating women and mothers. The event raised funds and awareness for endometriosis research.
