Son of Late Mafia Boss Vito Rizzuto Injured in Violent Attack
Leonardo Rizzuto, the son of the late Mafia boss Vito Rizzuto, was injured in a shooting in Laval on Thursday afternoon. The shooting occurred in the Vimont area of Laval, near the intersection of Des Laurentides Boulevard and De La Concorde East.
According to Laval police, the incident occurred around 2:15 p.m. when a vehicle pulled up beside Rizzuto’s car and opened fire. Rizzuto was hit by the gunfire and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are investigating the shooting and have yet to identify any suspects. They are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information to come forward and contact them.
This is not the first time the Rizzuto family has been targeted in a violent attack. Vito Rizzuto, who was once considered the most powerful Mafia boss in Canada, died in 2013 following a battle with cancer. Prior to his death, members of his family were targeted in a series of shootings, which were believed to be part of a power struggle within the organization.
The incident has sparked concern about a potential resurgence of organized crime in the area. Laval police have vowed to do everything in their power to bring those responsible for the shooting to justice and to prevent any further violence from occurring.
